Inter have emerged as a rival to Milan in the chase to sign Carlos Tevez from Manchester City this month.

The Rossoneri looked to be in pole position to net the Argentine after agreeing personal terms with the striker.

However, the Italian champions have so far failed to do a deal with Manchester City. Milan want the player initially on loan, whereas City want to sell outright.

The Rossoneri looked to be in pole position to net the Argentine after agreeing personal terms with the striker.

However, the Italian champions have so far failed to do a deal with Manchester City. Milan want the player initially on loan, whereas City want to sell outright.

Those problems in reaching a compromise could favour Inter as, according to the Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are ready to launch a Tevez bid of their own.

The report suggests that Inter director Marco Branca has already opened negotiations with officials at the Premiership club.

Unimpressed by Mauro Zarate following his loan switch from Lazio on transfer deadline day, Tevez may potentially answer some problems for the Nerazzurri in attack.

Inter could make a €25m offer for the player who hasn’t appeared for City since September following a breakdown in his relationship with boss Roberto Mancini.
