Inter haven't taken up their option to sign Houssine Kharja on a permanent basis from Serie A side Genoa.
The Moroccan joined the San Siro giants on a six month loan in January with an option to remain at the Meazza.
"I can confirm that the option to take Kharja has expired," agent Beppe Galli told Radio CRC on Thursday.
The midfielder has been linked with a switch to Napoli and his agent has welcomed such a possibility.

Kharja, born in November 1982, joined Genoa in 2009 after two seasons at Tuscan minnows Siena.
