Last season’s win against Inter was a turning point for Milan in their title-winning campaign, but the Nerazzurri have now become a nightmare for their city rivals having won the lastest four meetings without conceding.

The Nerazzurri secured a spot in the Champions League Final after beating their city rivals 3-0 on aggregate. They had also won the previous two meetings in Serie A and in the Supercoppa Final this season leaving the Rossoneri with no goals in four consecutive Derby della Madonnina for the first time ever.

Inter scored seven goals in the last four games against Milan and only lost three of the last 12 meetings with the Diavoli. One of those was last season when Stefano Pioli’s men secured a 2-1 win on February 5, 2022, which was eventually a turning point in their title-winning campaign.

The Benamata took their revenge on Italian and European soil this term, ending Milan’s Champions League dreams in the semi-finals. Director Paolo Maldini admitted Inter’s supremacy during a post-match interview on Tuesday: “In the last four games there really wasn’t much of a challenge. This game was better but compromised by the bad performance in the first half. Perhaps the way Inter play causes us problems, but in recent weeks we have been struggling against teams that are frankly less prestigious and strong,” said the Rossoneri legend.
