There is still a massive €25m gap between the €60m Inter offer and Manchester United’s demands for Romelu Lukaku and Mauro Icardi won't accept a swap.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are planning the first formal proposal and it’ll be worth €60m.

However, Manchester United want €85m for the Belgium international, so any negotiations will have to drag on for weeks if they are to ever approach a successful resolution.

Lukaku dropped several hints while on international duty that he wants to join Antonio Conte’s new-look Inter, where he is expected to replace Mauro Icardi.

The issue could be solved by sending Icardi to Manchester United in an exchange deal, but the Argentine is reportedly not interested in an Old Trafford switch.

He has his heart set on Juventus, although Inter have no intention of handing him over unless it’s in a swap with Paulo Dybala.
