Inter have reacted quickly to dismiss reports that they have done a deal with Montpellier for Younes Belhanda.

“It’s sad that we have to contradict the President of Montpellier, but Inter have never made an offer for their player Younes Belhanda,” Nerazzurri technical director Marco Branca noted.

Branca made the statement this afternoon after the French outfit claimed that the Beneamata had landed the attacking midfielder.

“There is an agreement with Inter,” Louis Nicollin told AMKSpor. “Fenerbahce offered €8m, but Inter bid €14m and that is why we accepted it.

“Inter made a bid last Thursday and I opted to accept it seeing as negotiations with Fenerbahce didn’t turn out positively.”

The Moroccan trequartista is a 22-year-old who has been on the books of the French club since 2003.

Inter have room in their squad for a player like Belhanda given that they sold Dutch international Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray this week.
