Sky Sport Italia are suggesting that Claudio Ranieri could be replaced by Inter following the 2-0 loss at Juventus.

According to the news giants, Ranieri has ‘never been this close to the axe’ following a terrible 2012 so far.

The veteran tactician was appointed by the Nerazzurri in September after the early dismissal of Gian Piero Gasperini.

Despite getting the Nerazzurri to within touching distance of a Scudetto push with seven straight wins, results have plummeted.

Since the 2-1 win over Lazio in Week 19, Inter have collected just one win from 10 Serie A matches. They’ve thus picked up only six points from 30 available.

Ranieri, formerly of Roma and Juventus, is contracted to the Stadio Meazza outfit until June 2013.

It was believed that he would remain in his seat until the end of the campaign before being replaced. Inter are eighth in the table, 10 points adrift of the final Champions League spot.
