Sky Sport Italia claims Hakan Calhanoglu is increasingly likely to start for Inter against Milan tonight, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan or Marcelo Brozovic initially on the bench.

Simone Inzaghi has only one line-up doubt ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal first leg against city rivals Milan. It concerns ex-Rossoneri star Calhanoglu who, according to this morning’s reports, was supposed to start on the bench.

However, the latest updates from Andrea Paventi in front of Inter’s Training Centre, suggest Calhanoglu is increasingly likely to start for the Nerazzurri.

Inter have just finished the final training session before tonight’s clash and if Calhanoglu starts, then Mkhitaryan or, more probably, Brozovic, will initially go on the bench.

Milan Skriniar is the only player out of action for the Nerazzurri, so Matteo Darmian, Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni will start in a three-man defence.

Calhanoglu joined Inter on a free transfer from Milan in June 2021. He had scored 32 goals in 172 competitive appearances with the Rossoneri.
