According to figures from Gazzetta dello Sport, the club has earned €38.9m just be participating in the group stages.

Added to that is €2.7m for each of their wins, while qualification for the Last 16 would guarantee at least €9.5m.

In addition, the Beneamata’s five home games so far have yielded around €10m, with €3.5m of that coming from the game against Spurs in the Champions League.

That gives a total of around €54m, a figure which is set to climb even further as the home matches against Milan and Barcelona have already sold out.

The money already generated represents about 20 per cent of the total revenue up to June 30.
