Inter want Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi, not least because it lets them balance the regulation requirements for the Europa League.

The Nerazzurri did not gain entry into the Champions League this year, but they'll still be playing the UEFA Europa League.

Current regulations demand that Inter's squad include one player developed in a club's own youth system, and four in an Italian youth system.

The team can count on Jonathan Biabiany, Marco Andreolli and Davide Santon to match the first requirement.

They have goalkeeper Tommaso Berni, Danilo D'Ambrosio, and Mauro Icardi for the second requirement, but the remaining two players from an Italian youth system are Mauro Icardi and Stevan Jovetic, who are likely to leave.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter are looking to fill the gap with Sassuolo's Berardi.

The 21-year-old, however, is believed to have already turned down Juventus, and may prove hard to get.
