Inter and Juventus can still win the title of Winter Champion, as their results are completely identical save for the trip to Atalanta.

The midway stage of the season is after the next round, to be played on January 6 and 7, and the leaders at that moment are considered the Campione d’Inverno.

The gap at the top of the table is now only two points, because Juve and Inter have a strangely identical record so far this season.

They both lost only once – to Sassuolo – and were held to draws by each other, Bologna and Genoa.

The single difference between these teams was the trip to Bergamo, where Inter emerged with a 2-1 victory, whereas Juve were held to a goalless draw.

Other than that fixture, they both have precisely 11 wins, four draws and one defeat.

The next round will decide the Winter Champion, where Inter host Hellas Verona and Juventus visit rock bottom Salernitana.

It is still possible they will finish level on points at the midway stage, if Inter draw and Juve win, but Simone Inzaghi’s men have a significantly better overall goal difference of +34 to +16.
