Inter director Piero Ausilio met with the officials from the Gunners for lunch two days ago and reports have already suggested that an agreement for the German’s loan had been found.

According to today's edition of Il Corriere dello Sport, the deal is now all but official, with Arsene Wenger having given the player permission to leave.

It is believed that the only details to be ironed out are relating to the price of the player should Inter wish to purchase them after the loan – Arsenal are reportedly asking for €4m-5m.

If Inter are able to complete the transfer by midnight of January 5, the player will be eligible to be called up by Coach Roberto Mancini against Juventus.

Inter and Arsenal would discuss the player's future at the end of the loan, six months from now.
