Lorenzo Insigne has made it clear that Napoli are in the Europa League to win it. “We’ll do everything we can to go all the way.”
Napoli thrashed FC Zurich 5-1 on aggregate in the Round of 32 and are among the favourites to lift the trophy this season – 30 years since their last triumph.
“We played with the right determination,” Insigne told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“We played with the right determination,” Insigne told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“[Carlo] Ancelotti told us to stay focused and get at them right from the start. We did that and now we’re confident we can keep this European run going.
“We have a great group of players here and we believe in our potential. We work hard and I know what sacrifices we’ve made over the years to keep improving.
“Now we have the chance to challenge for a big trophy and we’ll do everything we can to go all the way.”
The Italy forward took over the captaincy after Marek Hamsik left for Dalian Yifang but is suspended for the trip to Parma in Serie A on Saturday.
“It’s a shame I can’t be involved but I’m sure we’ll produce a great performance,” he continued.
“Parma is a tough place to go and we’ll need to play our best football. We’ll think about Juventus afterwards.
“We’re creating plenty of chances but not taking many. It’s partly our fault and we’re working on every little detail so that we can improve our goalscoring.
“We’ll try to rediscover our clinical edge but a lot of the time it’s just a case of getting the rub of the green.
“It’s a source of pride for me and I feel the weight of responsibility in being captain. I’ve made lots of sacrifices in my life to get [to] where I am and I’m proud to have been rewarded in this way. I’m Neapolitan and I love this club.
“I believe that if we all [pull] our strengths – the team and the fans together – we can achieve something important.”
