Lorenzo Insigne will be forced to miss Napoli’s Serie A clash against Cagliari tomorrow after suffering an injury in training.

The 30-year-old Italian winger is hoping to have a positive end to his Partenopei career this season but he’ll be forced to miss one last trip to Sardinia after suffering the problem today.

As reported by Claudio Russo, Insigne suffered a right thigh strain during this morning’s training session, ruling him out of Napoli’s away trip to Cagliari.

The Euro 2020 winner will be leaving the Azzurri at the end of his season, when his contract expires, and he’ll be joining MLS side Toronto FC on a free transfer, becoming the highest paid player in the league.

Insigne has made 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1710 minutes. In that time, he’s scored seven goals and provided six assists, struggling with some minor injuries this campaign.
