Lorenzo Insigne will be fit to start for Napoli against Fiorentina on Sunday, confirmed his agent.

The local talent pulled out of international duty with a knee injury sustained during the 4-0 victory over Milan, but has been training with the Napoli squad this week.

“He went to the Nazionale with a few knocks against Milan, so as he was unable to play for Italy, it was thought best he undergo treatment at Napoli. There’s nothing anomalous about that,” representative Antonio Ottaiano told Radio Bruno.

“He is doing well at the moment, maybe because of the different tactical position in the 4-3-3. He needs to feel like a real striker to give his best.

“Having work to do defensively took away some of his focus from attacking, but now he has more precise positions to take up.”

Now that Insigne is making his name on the European stage too, will he remain at the Stadio San Paolo?

“Insigne expressed the desire to win something at Napoli, but it takes two to tango. We’ll talk to the club, who have always said they want to keep him.”
