Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne shrugs off criticism of his performance against Juventus – “it’s part of the job”.

The Italian international has five goals and an assist in seven Serie A matches this season, but he was ineffective in the 3-1 defeat in Turin.

“Criticism is part of the job,” Insigne shrugged, sitting alongside Carlo Ancelotti in the pre-Liverpool Press conference.

“I always think about working hard and improving, we’re human and anyone can have a bad game.

“I always think about working hard and improving, we’re human and anyone can have a bad game.

“I’m not interested in the criticism, I know it wasn’t one of my best performances but I’m calm and looking forward to tomorrow.

“I’m calm, as are my teammates, it’ll be a difficult game but those are the ones we like, particularly in the Champions League.

“With a big push behind us we’ll try to get a result.

“They have a lot of strong players, even the ones on the bench. [Roberto] Firmino is decisive for the wingers, because he pulls defenders away and creates spaces for them to run in to.

“We hope to play a good game, cause them problems, and get three points in the most difficult group of all.”

It’s been five years since Insigne scored his first Champions League goal, against Borussia Dortmund.

“It was against Klopp,” Insigne pointed out.

“I hope I can do it again…”
