Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler admits it will be “a special game” against Swiss side Young Boys.

The Europa League fixture kicks off on Thursday at 18.00 UK time (17.00 GMT).

“This is a special game for me because I was born nearby,” said Swiss international Inler in a Press conference.

“It is also a very important match for Napoli, as Young Boys play very well on home turf, also thanks to the synthetic pitch that they train on every day.

“On this turf the ball doesn’t bounce very much, so we need technique and to play simple. The ball also moves more quickly. There is going to be a wonderful atmosphere.

“I know what I have to do on the field and always talk to Benitez.”

Napoli fumbled a lead twice at San Siro on Sunday for their 2-2 Serie A draw with Inter.

“We cleared the air after the Inter game, as we need to work a lot more on controlling the ball. We also need more grit. It’s a shame these things happen, but we must accept criticism and work to resolve the problems.

“When you take the lead twice at San Siro and then concede twice, a draw can only be a bitter result.”
