According to multiple reports in Italy, Nicolò Zaniolo’s adductor injury is not as bad as initially feared, so he should return to action against Atalanta on December 18.

The 22-year old is suspended for the upcoming Serie A clash against Spezia but would not have been eligible to play due to a slight injury.

Zaniolo was subbed off during Roma‘s Conference League clash against CSKA Moscow last night and underwent medical examinations today.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Il Corriere dello Sport, the exams didn’t highlight a severe injury for the Italy international.

The 22-year-old will likely return to action on Saturday, December 18, when the Giallorossi travel to Bergamo to face Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta.
