Roma defender Gianluca Mancini has pulled out of the Italy squad due to foot problems.

The 25-year-old had been included in the Azzurri squad list by coach Roberto Mancini but wasn’t even on the bench against Bulgaria on Thursday.

According to multiple reports, the defender won’t be available for the upcoming games against Switzerland and Lithuania because of foot inflammation.

Mancini had also been included in the preliminary Italy squad ahead of the Euros, but he was eventually cut from the final 26-man squad list.

Mancini has six international caps to his name and played Roma’s opening two Serie A games of the season.

Italy picked up a draw against Bulgaria in their first game as European champions on Thursday. They face Switzerland in Basel on Sunday and Lithuania at Sassuolo‘s Mapei Stadium on Wednesday.
