Dybala picked up a knee injury against Sassuolo on Sunday and exams underwent this morning highlighted “a low-grade lesion of the medial collateral ligament of the left knee.”

The Argentina star will remain out of action for 15-20 days, which means he will sit out against Inter and Napoli.

Juventus travel to the Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday for a key Serie A clash against the Nerazzurri, while they face Napoli at Reggio Emilia’s Mapei Stadium in the Italian Supercup final on January 20.

Alvaro Morata has returned from an injury and played a few minutes in the second half against Sassuolo.

Andrea Pirlo, however, can’t pick replacements from the Primavera or Under 23 squads as the Old Lady’s senior team is self-isolating after Alex Sandro, Juan Cuadrado and Matthijs de Ligt have tested positive for COVID last week.

Alessandro Di Pardo, Gianluca Frabotta, Radu Dragusin, Manolo Portanova and Nicolò Fagioli have joined the senior team for the home clash against Sassuolo, but Pirlo can’t promote more players from the Primavera or the Under 23 squad until the team ends self-isolation.

Weston McKennie and Federico Chiesa have also picked up injuries against Sassuolo, but according to Sky Sport, Pirlo hope they will be available against Inter on Sunday.
