FIFA President Gianni Infantino has invited Francesco Totti to work with him after retirement. “It would be an honour.”

The Roma captain turned 40 last month, but is still going strong and has provided five assists in the last two Europa League games.

“It would obviously be an honour to have a player like him working with us,” Infantino told Rai Sport.

“He can try to give something more to football. Totti is, after all, an icon.”

Totti had until recently declared he didn’t have the temperament to be a Coach, but is open to taking that route.

His contract expires in June 2017, but there’s no confirmation yet that he’ll be hanging up his boots on that date.
