Lorenzo Insigne admits his Pescara past with Ciro Immobile is there to see with Italy, even he asserts that what counts are official games.

The diminutive attacker combined well with his former Delfino teammate in Sunday evening’s practice match against club side Fluminense, scoring twice whilst Immobile bagged a hat-trick for the Azzurri.

A final warm-up game before Italy’s competition proper kicks off on June 14 against England,  Insigne considered his link-up play with the Borussia Dortmund man.

“I am pleased with the performance here, the team played well, and not just me and Ciro,” Insigne reflected after yesterday’s game.

“We know each other, it is easier for us, even if the credit also goes to the team and the Coach.

“Our understanding is obviously already proven thanks to our time previously at Pescara.

“My position? At Napoli this year I have been used back in midfield and defence. Aside from the 4-3-3, I will play at a World Cup even in goal.

“Being here to play for a World Cup at 23 years of age is a already a great achievement for me, the best. I will give it my all at every opportunity that I am granted.

“Against Fluminense it does not matter that I scored some goals, the game does not matter for the result, it will be important against England.

“They are strong, we must fight with our weapons.”
