“The transfer window closes earlier this year, I don’t have to reiterate my feelings for Lazio,” Immobile shrugged at the Football Leader event.

The Italian international finished as Serie A’s joint top-scorer, and has been linked with a summer move to Milan.

“The transfer window closes earlier this year, I don’t have to reiterate my feelings for Lazio,” Immobile shrugged at the Football Leader event.

“I can’t comment on any rumours, these will inevitably come out because I scored so many goals. I’m staying calm and letting my agents work.

“I’ll go to the national team, meet [Roberto] Mancini and then I’ll go on holiday.”

Despite his scoring exploits it was a season of heartbreak for Immobile, as Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup and Lazio missed out on the Champions League on the final day.

“The people who are here with me today know what I went through after the defeat to Sweden, some very bad moments. It was a real sporting tragedy.

“As for the Champions League, we gave our all and if you look at the arc of the whole season we deserved more.”
