Ciro Immobile has received a positive update from the doctors, revealing that the Lazio captain’s recent injury is not as bad as first feared.

The 33-year-old had come off early during the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Torino at the end of September, telling Maurizio Sarri that he was very concerned over the potential injury

As a result, Immobile has been used sparingly since, although he was deemed fit enough to start against Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

It had been thought that there could be an issue with the flexor muscles in his thigh, which led Lazio to send him for further medical assessments.

On Monday, however, the results of those tests came through, ruling out the possibility of any sort of muscular injury in the thigh in question.

Now according to Di Marzio, Immobile is already preparing for his permanent return to the team, and he could be involved in Lazio’s away game against Sassuolo immediately after the international break.
