Carlo Ancelotti sent a message to departing Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos: ‘I’ll never forget what we achieved together.’

The Spanish defender gave his farewell press conference at Real Madrid today, revealing that he won’t retire and that his career will continue elsewhere.

Ramos spent 15 years at the Santiago Bernabeu winning four Champions Leagues and five La Liga titles.

He won his first Champions League with Los Blancos in 2014, when Ancelotti was in charge of the Merengues.

Ramos scored a last-gasp equaliser in the Final against Atletico Madrid and Los Blancos eventually lifted the cup after scoring three goals during the extra time.

It was a historic triumph for the La Liga giants who did not only beat their city rivals but won the cup for the tenth time in their history.

Carlo Ancelotti paid tribute to Sergio Ramos after today’s press conference posting a picture of that night in Lisbon.

“Dear Sergio, I will never forget what we lived together. Good luck, captain,” the Italian tactician wrote on Twitter.

Ancelotti has returned to Real Madrid to replace Zinedine Zidane signing a three-year deal with the La Liga giants.
