Roma have not made any move to sign Josip Ilicic, the Palermo player’s representative has underlined.

“As soon as the player finds some form he is bombarded by these rumours,” Amir Ruznic told Calcio Mercato. “First there was Liverpool, then Inter and now Roma…

“These voices hurt the player because they can create problems. That is why I want to underline that there is no truth.”

Stories suggested that Roma were keen given how highly sporting director Walter Sabatini rates the Slovenian.

“It is clear that he knows him well as he was the man who signed him for Palermo, but I haven’t spoken with Sabatini since he left Sicily,” the agent continued.

“I don’t know if the two clubs are talking, but the player has underlined that he is only thinking about Palermo.

“He’s focused on his club because he believes that he still owes the Rosanero a lot. He’s playing well, all that is missing are goals…”

Ilicic, 27, has played in seven of the club’s eight games so far this term.
