Mauro Icardi’s back-heel flick against Sampdoria has won Serie A Goal of the Year for 2018, but the Inter striker disagreed with the decision.

The Gran Gala’ del Calcio is held this evening in Milan, the Italian version of the PFA Awards.

Icardi received the first award of the ceremony, one voted for by the public rather than his peers, for Goal of the Year.

It was his back-heel flick against Sampdoria that earned the most votes, but in his acceptance speech, Icardi took the opportunity to dispute it.
