Speaking to Argentine broadcaster Telefe on Sunday evening, Wanda Nara also gave an insight into Icardi’s business dealings, how they distinguished work life with family life and why she had “to change my look”, being a former model.
“I speak mostly in Italian when I’m in Milan, but I’m learning English because Mauro’s contracts are in that language,” she began.
“It wasn’t planned that I’d become his agent. His contract was about to expire and he asked me to contact the President to tell him we had to deal with his contract renewal.
“I wasn’t sure at first, but since I was well, we made this decision. Now Mauro’s earnings have increased a lot, but this is mainly due to his talent.
“I don’t take commissions like an agent. Whatever is earned stays in the family. We’re like a family-run business.
“Work life and family life? With Mauro, we distinguish Wanda the wife with Wanda the agent well. For example, we’ll argue about domestic affairs but then we’ll talk about work.
“We’ll talk for a moment professionally and then go back to being angry at each other!
“I’ve also had to change my ‘look’ because of my role as his agent… I have new projects on the table, and with time and my various commitments, I’ll make them happen.
“We’ve renewed his contract with Inter three times because when other clubs have wanted Icardi, the club have done everything to keep him, naturally by improving the terms of his deal!
“Our relationship with their board is great, especially on a personal level. For example, when the girls were born, the club gave us a lot of gifts.
“For us, as a family, it’s better for us to stay in Milan because the children want to stay there. That aside, Mauro’s very happy and he’s also the captain.
“It’s not our intention to leave Milan, but of course, if Mauro changes city for work purposes, we’d follow him.”
