Mauro Icardi appears to have sent another message to Inter with the ‘freedom’ cap he wore last week.

Icardi posted a picture of himself wearing the cap with the caption ‘freedom’, which was liked by agent-wife Wanda Nara and Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo, his teammate at Inter last season.

The striker has not played for the Nerazzurri since being stripped of their captaincy on February 13 and refused to take part against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League a day later.

His absence is officially due to a knee injury, but Inter released a statement from their medical staff confirming tests showed no physical problems.

Icardi had been in the stands to watch his team’s two victories over Sampdoria and Rapid Vienna, wearing very similar baseball caps on both occasions, each bearing animals and a word that could be seen as sending a message.

The Argentine’s hat included an image of a lion with the word ‘KING’ against Samp, but he watched the Beneamata thrash Rapid 4-0 with one that sported an eagle and the word ‘FREEDOM’ – which he has now posted on Instagram.
