Mauro Icardi’s agent confirms Inter gave him permission to talk to Atletico Madrid and image rights are a contract problem.

“Nothing has changed in his rapport with the club since the start of the season, as Mauro adores these club colours and the love has only grown between them,” Letterio Pino told Gazzetta TV.

“Image rights are the stumbling block. We need to do things properly, especially as the player has a very strong image. He has contracts with various sponsors and one of the variables we’re discussing is use of the jersey in ads.
“There will be no buy-out clause in the contract, so he’ll be free to escape!” joked the representative.
Icardi has repeatedly been linked with Atletico Madrid and Pino revealed there’s more to this than expected.
“He had contact with Atletico, but with Inter’s blessing. I don’t know what else happened after that. He always wanted to stay at Inter.”
The 22-year-old became the youngest Capocannoniere since Paolo Rossi in 1978, matching Luca Toni of Verona on 22 goals.
