This week the striker’s wife and agent, Wanda, caused alarm when she claimed the Nerazzurri hadn’t offered a deal and had tried to sell their captain to Juventus.

While it’s believed the Beneamata have offered a deal, there are clearly some obstacles to be overcome.

According to this morning’s Corriere dello Sport, the point of contention is the €110m release clause in Icardi’s contract.

That currently allows the Argentine to leave in the first two weeks of July, and the newspaper believes Inter want to remove it altogether.

Wanda Icardi, meanwhile, would prefer to raise the clause but not remove it completely.
