Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to pull out of the Sweden squad because the Milan forward is still recovering from injury.

It was surprising to see the veteran included in the list of players for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo on October 9 and Greece on October 12.

Sweden call up 40-year-old Ibrahimovic

He was forced to miss UEFA EURO 2020 following knee surgery and has made only a brief substitute appearance for Milan this season.

It prompted a relapse, irritating the Achilles tendon, and it is not yet clear when he will make his comeback.

Ibrahimovic will also turn 40 on October 4 and MilanNews.it report that he has told the Swedish Federation he won’t be available for this international call-up.

Zlatan is not fully fit and wants to focus on getting back into shape before he jets off on international duty, as he fears further relapses if he does not take a more relaxed route back to the pitch this time.

  1. Well this is the best for Sweden. It is not like he can offer much anymore. The dude could go and gets injju3in training again.

  2. obviously it was just a PR move for sweden to callup a injured ibra. but it is clear the end is near for ibra career. it was a good one
