The veteran has been heavily linked with a return to the Rossoneri, with reports in Italy suggesting a six-month contract had been agreed.

Last night though SportItalia reported a U-turn, and now Expressen states that Ibra will remain in MLS.

The outlet reports that Ibrahimovic’s wife and two sons are very happy in Los Angeles, and are against him returning to Europe.

In addition, LA Galaxy may be ready to make him a designated player, thereby exempting him from the MLS salary cap.

On Sunday the Galaxy will be allowed to make trades and register players, and it’s expected that Romain Alessandrini or Giovani Dos Santos will leave, allowing Ibra to become a DP.

The striker is currently earning $1.5m per season, compared to $6m for Dos Santos.
