The Swede saw red in the second half of the Tardini meeting on Saturday when the Rossoneri were two goals up.

Although the 39-year-old believes referee Fabio Maresca misunderstood what he said, he could still be handed a two-match ban and miss the following games against Genoa and Sassuolo.

Italian sports papers criticise the Milan forward for his attitude against the Ducali.

La Gazzetta dello Sport rate him 4.5/10. “One does not expect such a similar behaviour from a player like him,” is the analysis of the pink paper.

“His red card ruined Milan’s game. A huge mistake, not acceptable from him,” writes Il Corriere dello Sport.

Tuttosport adds Ibra’s tension was “unjustifiable” and rates the Milan striker 5.5/10.

“Zlatan told me he discussed something with the referee for a while, but did not show a lack of respect and absolutely did not insult him. I haven’t spoken to Maresca, so I don’t know,” Milan coach Stefano Pioli said after the game yesterday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s ratings:

La Gazzetta dello Sport: 4,5
Corriere dello Sport: 5
Tuttosport: 5,5
