Zlatan Ibrahimovic is only a step away from returning to action for Milan and his next goal would be a recording break one.

The 41-year-old Swedish striker has been sidelined following a serious knee operation carried out in May of last year, following the Rossoneri’s Scudetto success. Despite the long absence, Ibrahimovic has insisted that he’s not planning to retire yet and has been working hard on his recovery.

Ibrahimovic was left on the bench for Milan’s last two consecutive league outings and could make his first appearance of the season in the coming weeks.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibrahimovic’s next goal for Milan would break a Serie A record, as he’d become the oldest goalscorer in the league’s history.

Ibrahimovic is already third on the list, having last scored at the age of 40 years, 3 months and 6 days old. The current record holder is former Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta, who scored at the age of 41 years and 25 days old.

The Swedish veteran is currently 41 years and 146 days old, meaning his next goal in the coming months would be a record-breaking one.
