Zlatan Ibrahimovic decries rumours of a Milan return as media speculation – ‘there’s nothing in it’.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been linked with a return to the Rossoneri in recent days, with suggestions he has already verbally agreed to open talks.

However, speaking in a Press conference while on Sweden duty, the big striker denied he was seeking to leave the French champions.

“I’m a PSG player, and I still have a year on my contract,” Ibrahimovic reminded journalists.

“Milan? It’s only the media who are talking about it, there’s nothing to it. You [the Swedish media] are very good at spreading rumours from around the world.

“Have you called [Milan CEO Adriano] Galliani to check if it’s true? Since I left Milan, I’ve talked to Galliani now and again, but it doesn’t mean anything.

“You never know what could happen, but right now I’m happy at PSG. We had a great season, and the project is continuing to develop.

“We’re making progress all the time, and I don’t intend to leave. That’s the situation just now.”

The 33-year-old did, however, leave the door slightly open for a San Siro return, insisting that Champions League football is not necessarily crucial for him.

“Of course, the Champions League is important. You always want to play in the biggest competitions.

“But it’s not necessarily crucial in choosing a club. What matters is playing for a club which makes you feel good, where you really want to play.”
