Director general Beppe Marotta speaks all-round about Juventus' mercato, touching on Edinson Cavani, Marco Verratti and Carlos Tevez.

The Bianconero executive released some statements earlier on today making it clear that Paul Pogba was off the market, but he later went on to examine several other options in the Old Lady's transfer market.

“Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani? He's an excellent player, he went there from Napoli with an incredible price-tag,” Marotta considered to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It's obvious that many teams would want him. Juventus would like an operation of that kind, but for now it's fantasy football.

“Bringing [Marco] Verratti back to Italy would be a source of pride. To be honest we talked with him, we negotiated with Pescara.

“But evidently we weren't in a condition to negotiate for every player. On that occasion we made a decision and picked up Pogba.

“Given the option, of course we'd have purchased them all.”

Juventus were linked in the recent past with Radamel Falcao, and Marotta admits they were close to a deal.

“He was incredibly close to us at one point. Now things have changed, it's a different scenario.

“Falcao is a top player, of course he has a high market value, as well as a substantial salary. He's a good player.

“Today it would be premature to discuss how our team will be set up in the future, but we're evaluating many opportunities.”

Finally, Marotta turned to some of the players already within the Bianconeri rank and file.

“We have an excellent relationship with [Carlos] Tevez. The player integrated himself from day one not only in the formation, but also in the Juventus mentality.

“He absorbed our history, our prestige and our trophies, which we wanted to renew with him at Juventus by winning the Scudetto immediately.

“We did it, and Tevez is now a fantastic professional and we have the same deal with him that we do with [goalkeeper Gianluigi] Buffon.

“When he wants to stop playing for Juventus we will do our best to respect his wishes.

“But for now that condition does not subsist and we will do our best to keep him for as long as possible.

“As for Buffon himself, the only name I can give you to replace him someday is [Nicola] Leali [currently on-loan to Cesena].

“Buffon can cover the role for many years. As long as he wants to play, he'll keep playing.

“Players like Buffon, [Claudio] Marchisio and [Giorgio] Chiellini, who demonstrated their loyalty and their sense of belonging, are the real treasure of Juventus, along with the Italian players.”
