Milan President Silvio Berlusconi admits he “argued” with Vincenzo Montella again, this time over the deployment of Suso.

Berlusconi has already questioned Montella’s decision to ditch the 4-3-1-2 formation traditionally used by Milan in favour of a 4-3-3, and the 80-year-old now does not agree with the Spaniard being played as a winger.

“He has many things that make him similar to [Roberto] Donadoni,” he was quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He has great class, he’s able to get past one or two men and then shoot at goal.

“Now he plays more as a winger and must put many crosses into the box, but I see him more as a second striker so his shooting can be better exploited.

“It’s one of the things that Montella and I have argued about. I’d always pick a Milan side with two strikers and a No 10.

“Therefore, I’d play Suso and a No 9 together, with Bonaventura behind. This way, we could achieve great results.”
