According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan need circa €100m to extend with Rafael Leao, Ismael Bennacer and Olivier Giroud.

The Rossoneri have already invested a similar fee – close to €100m – for their summer signings and deals with other key players, including Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Sandro Tonali.

The count includes transfer fees and salaries for the entire duration of contracts.

According to Gazzetta, the Rossoneri will need a further €100m to extend with Giroud, Bennacer and Leao.

Giroud’s deal runs out in the summer and his contract is described by Gazzetta as a ‘formality’ as the ex-Chelsea and Arsenal forward is expected to extend his stay at San Siro until 2024. That’s when the contracts of Bennacer and Leao expire.

Bennacer has reportedly demanded a new €4m-a-year deal and the Rossoneri seem open to matching his request.

Leao’s situation is a bit trickier as the Rossoneri wanted to extend with the Portuguese ace before the World Cup but are set to miss the deadline.

Leao has attracted interest from some of the best European clubs, including PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City and Milan fear that high-level performances at Qatar 2022 would see the ex-Lille starlet increase his salary demands.

Leao also expects Milan to cover part of the €19m he owes to his former club, Sporting CP, for terminating his contract unilaterally in 2018.
