Juventus and Fabio Paratici somehow helped each other during the January transfer window despite the Spurs chief being no longer on good terms with his former employer.

It was a busy January transfer window for both clubs. Juventus signed Dusan Vlahovic and Denis Zakaria and sent both Kulusevski and Bentancur to Tottenham.

Bentancur has moved to North London on a permanent €19m move plus €6m add-ons, while Kulusevski has joined his new club on a paid €10m loan deal with an option to buy for €35m.

Juventus transfers review: now it’s all down to Allegri

Neither Bentancur nor Kulusevski were regular starters under Massimiliano Allegri, and selling them for a combined €71m fee, including add-ons, will surely help the Bianconeri’s finances.

Juventus announced a loss of almost €210m for the 2020-21 campaign and used almost their entire transfer budget for the next two transfer windows to sign Vlahovic.

Paratici has brought two new faces in North London, somehow helping his former club and those who think the former Juve director was happy to help his former club could not be more wrong.

Football Italia understands Paratici and some of Juventus directors are not on good terms and it’s no coincidence that intermediaries, including Kulusevki’s agent Alessandro Lucci, carried out negotiations between the two clubs.

How Conte can get the best out of Kulusevski and Bentancur

To some extent, Juventus and their former players have also helped Paratici, who saw other players snub Spurs in January.

Antonio Conte’s side had been linked with Adama Traore and Luis Diaz, who chose Barcelona and Liverpool instead.

Spurs had also sounded out Vlahovic’s availability, but the player had his heart set on Juventus and explained today that he joined the club because of their DNA.

Now, it’s down to Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri to get the best out of their new signings to reach a Champions League placement.
