Gonzalo Higuain should be fit to face Arsenal tonight, although he left Napoli’s training session early with Raul Albiol.

The Partenopei are in London for the Champions League Group F clash at the Emirates this evening.

Albiol and Higuain trained separately from the rest of the squad on Monday evening due to niggling muscular problems.

However, the striker lasted only 10 minutes of this separate session and then left the field, as it’s reported the muscular pain he felt over the last few days has intensified.

It’s possible Rafa Benitez won’t want to risk ‘Pipita’ during such a packed fixture list for Napoli, but the latest reports suggest Higuain should be able to start.

Albiol went off at half-time in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Genoa, though he too could be passed fit.

Meanwhile, Higuain told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he was “honoured by the interest from Arsenal this summer. I have great respect for Arsene Wenger and the idea I was in his plans fills me with pride.

“However, I think my decision to come to Napoli was the best one and I am really happy with my choice.

“I hope this will be a spectacular game, as both teams are built to win. When I look back at the transfer session, I continue to believe Mesut Ozil is the best signing of the summer. When I played alongside him at Real Madrid, I was always sure he’d set up a goal with every assist.”
