Juventus will reportedly take a decision on Gonzalo Higuain today, but if he is called-up for Napoli he’s likely to be on the bench.

The striker broke the third metacarpal on his left hand in training when Claudio Marchisio’s stud landed on his finger.

The injury was severe enough to require surgery, and Pipita went under the knife on Monday evening.

While Higuain returned to training with the squad yesterday, it’s still far from certain that he’ll be available for the trip to the San Paolo.

According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, Coach Massimiliano Allegri will make a decision today, but no unnecessary risks will be taken.

Even if Higuain is called, he’s likely to start the match on the bench and would only be brought on if absolutely necessary.
