Maurizio Setti has decided to sell his majority shares in Hellas Verona and has given Deutsche Bank a mandate to manage the takeover, reports detail.

TMW details how Setti is looking to sell his shares in the Gialloblu for more than €100m and is keen to get things across the line before the World Cup kicks off next month, giving him little time to agree a takeover deal with a buyer.

In recent weeks there have been meetings at the Verona headquarters between some representatives of the possible new owners and Setti to discuss the figures of a takeover and the details of a deal.

The Gialloblu are in a good spot financially, having less debt than they did last year – currently €45.5m – and with a good amount of money waiting on the horizon, considering the obligation to buy clauses attached to departed players like Gianluca Caprari, Matteo Cancellieri and Giovanni Simeone.

The first offer for Hellas Verona was around €80m in July but figures will likely climb over €100m. Setti has given Deutsche Bank an exclusive mandate to manage the operation and things are starting to move quickly now, although it’s still unclear if everything will be across the line before the World Cup kicks off next month.
