Argentine defender Gabriel Heinze is angling for a move to Italy after labelling Juventus as a great club.

Speaking with L'Equipe, the stopper admitted that he's likely to leave Marseille this summer a year before his contract expires.

"There is only a small chance that I will stay at Marseille," the 33-year-old left-back commented. "I have other projects for the rest of my career."

Heinze, formerly of Manchester United, has been linked with Italian clubs in the past, with one interested party believed to have been Juventus.

"They are a great club," he continued. "My career would be perfect if I had the possibility of playing in the Italian championship.

"I've been close to a move to Serie A on two occasions in the past, I hope that I get a third opportunity…"
