Wolfsburg Coach Dieter Hecking admits Inter target Ivan Perisic could leave, but warns ‘our players are expensive’.

The Nerazzurri are known to be tracking the Croatian winger, but appear reluctant to meet the German side’s €20m asking price.

A loan bid with a €17m mandatory redemption clause was rejected, with Die Wolfe also dismissing the idea of Xherdan Shaqiri coming in exchange.

“We don’t want to lose any of our players, no matter what their name is,” Hecking told Kicker as his players reconvened for pre-season.

“However, there are signs that Ivan could leave Wolfsburg. If we get an offer from somewhere then we’ll sit and think about it.

“No-one should think about coming to Wolfsburg for a bargain. Our players are expensive, because they’re good players.”

Hecking’s words appear to indicate that the Beneamata must match the €20m asking price if they are to have any chance of securing the Perisic’s signature.
