Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 6-1 loss away at Newcastle and fans and pundits remember on social media what Antonio Conte said last month, while Jamie Carragher blames Cristian Stellini saying the North Londoners should hire a real coach.

It’s been a terrible day for Stellini’s Tottenham who suffered their second successive defeat in the Premier League, losing 6-1 to Newcastle. The Magpies scored five goals in the opening 21 minutes and Spurs are now six points below Manchester United who also have two games in hand.

Conte left Tottenham only a month ago and many fans and pundits remember on Twitter what the Italian tactician had said in his last press conference in charge of the North Londoners.

The ex-Juventus and Inter boss had blamed ‘selfish’ players and club owners and many now admit the former midfielder ‘wasn’t wrong.’

Liverpool legend Carragher issued one of the harshest verdicts for Conte’s successor – and former assistant – Stellini, writing on Twitter that Tottenham should hire a ‘proper manager, not Conte’s mate.’
