Samir Handanovic believes he has integrated himself fully into the Inter squad after his summer move from Udinese.

The Slovenian goalkeeper has been virtually ever-present in the Nerazzurri's first XI this season, but has admitted that he has only now settled in with his teammates.

“The environment here is a serene one,” he told Inter Channel. “It was not very hard to fit in – my teammates have been very helpful.

“I am slowly learning about the group, because a goalkeeper must understand all the characteristics of his teammates.”

He then went on to reveal who his idol was growing up and what he perceives to be the toughest League in Europe.

“Peter Schmeichel was the goalkeeper I modelled myself on,” he said. “He is one of the best ever and has won everything, playing for seven or eight years at the highest level for Manchester United.

“For a goalkeeper I think the Premier League is the most difficult. Goalies are poorly protected there and the games are more physical.”
