Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic refuses to commit his future to Inter, warning ‘the only way to be happy is to win’.

The Slovenian international’s contract expires at the end of next season, and the shot-stopper is yet to sign a new deal.

Before being beaten by a Wayne Rooney penalty on international duty, Handanovic had saved the last five spot kicks he faced, and such form has left Inter keen to tie the player down with a new deal.

However, in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport Handanovic intimated that his future could lie away from San Siro.

“My demands? I haven’t asked for anything,” Handanovic insisted.

“Before deciding I want to understand the aims and ambitions of the club, the direction they want to go in because it could go in so many ways.

“I want to win, and so do the club hierarchy but that goes without saying.

“I’m not someone who runs away from facing problems. I have to think about the future and see what happens. I hope we can be in a position to fight with the others.

“As I’ve said, the aims of the club are important. Living a healthy life with your family in a city like Milan is not enough; the only way to be happy is to win.

“Otherwise there will always be something missing.”
