Napoli captain Marek Hamsik says the Scudetto 'was a dream, and it still is' after the painful defeat to Udinese.

The Partenopei left much of their title hopes in the trodden grass after losing 3-1 to the Zebrette, but the Slovak believed the result came down to self-discipline.

“It was a very nervous match, the team should stay calm and not let the episodes condition the performance,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss Italia. “All of the matches are fundamental, including today's. Now we face Verona, and we are forced to win.

“The Scudetto was a dream and it still is. We have to try for it until the end, as long as mathematics leaves that window open.

“Today we had a lot of difficulties, but we've got to leave that behind and think of nothing but playing. Udinese are a team built to defend the mid-table position, they proved that today in spite of their trouble.

“I haven't seen the penalties again. Certainly, having two of them assigned against us is bound to hurt.”
