The captain has hinted over the last few weeks that he could head to China after Maurizio Sarri’s departure, but the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti could change his mind.

“My dream remains to win the Scudetto with Napoli, I’ve always said it and I am not changing that now,” Hamsik told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We were unable to stop Juventus, but the Scudetto is what we want. With Ancelotti, we are now even stronger. He is a great Coach, a super move for the club and he could be decisive for whether I stay or not.

“My love for Napoli is not up for debate, and I have a contract to 2020, but we’ll see what happens and it doesn’t just depend on me. We’ll sit down with the club and the Coach to evaluate every aspect calmly.

“I have plenty of offers, but if I was to leave Napoli in future, it certainly would not be for another Italian club. I probably wouldn’t even play elsewhere in Europe, as I could never betray my people.

“My dream remains, it is still there, it’s still alive and I want to make it happen here.”
