Marek Hamsik’s agent has paid testament to the Napoli midfielder’s professionalism as “he was happier about the win” than matching Diego Maradona.
Hamsik finally equalled Maradona’s record of 115 Napoli goals with his strike against Torino on Saturday, and Juraj Venglos believes the Slovakian can now focus on the Scudetto without any anxiety.
“I heard from Marek immediately after the game,” he told Radio CRC.

“I heard from Marek immediately after the game,” he told Radio CRC.
“He was very happy because equalling such a record doesn’t happen every day.
“He must keep going like this and then surpass [Maradona], even if he was happier about the win.
“I don’t know if it was a burden on him, but this goal will certainly give him confidence going forward.
“It’s a very nice chapter in his career. What makes him proud is that he’s equalled this record as a midfielder.
“The Scudetto is the thing that his experience with Napoli is lacking the most, and winning it is his objective.”
